STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS <br />MARIO SALAS I PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR/TECHNICIAN <br />Mr. Mario Salas has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry. With <br />over two decades of hands on experience, Mario has a well-rounded knowledge of the <br />construction industry and has spent more than 19 years as an ICC structural concrete, <br />anchor installation, structural steel and masonry inspector. Project experience includes <br />transportation, public facilities, high-rise, commercial, industrial and retail buildings. <br />He is certified AWS/CWI and is also certified in Fire Stop Penetration. This allows him <br />to provide a very high level of expertise and continuity to the project team. With <br />certifications through ICC, AWS, ACI, the City of Los Angeles, and general construction <br />experience and code knowledge, he is an asset to any inspection team. <br />RELEVANT PROJECT INVOLVEMENT / EXPERIENCE <br />KRAEMER GRADE SEPARATION AT BNSF R / R TRACKS, PLACENTIA <br />Public Works Special Inspector / Technician IThe OC Bridges project will separate <br />train traffic from vehicle and pedestrian traffic along five railroad crossings in the <br />city of Placentia and the addition of Railroad track. Mr. Salas is on -site providing <br />Quality Control (QC) during fabrication of reinforcing steel cages, boring of CIDH <br />piles, placement of reinforcing steel cages and concrete. Providing QC during pile cap, <br />retaining wall reinforcing steel, form installation and concrete placement. <br />1-405 FWY/ SEPULVEDA PASS WIDENING, LOS ANGELES <br />Public Works Special Inspector / Technician I The 1-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening <br />Project involved the engineering, procurement and construction of 10-miles of HOV lane, freeway widening, realigning existing on-/ <br />off -ramps, removing and replacing three bridge structures, construction of approximately 23 additional bridges and ramps, 18-miles <br />of retaining and sounds walls and performing road improvements on adjacent City streets for LACMTA. Mr. Salas provided certified <br />welding inspection at various stages of the project. <br />BENTON CREEK CHANNEL, TEMECULA <br />Public Works Special Inspector / Technician I Mr. Salas provided special inspection as required the City Building Department and <br />Engineering plan for footings and structural concrete poured in place walls for street overpass at Capri and Pompei at Benton Creek <br />Channel. <br />LOS ANGELES CITY COLLEGE CHEMISTRY & LIFE SCIENCE BUILDINGS, LOS ANGELES <br />Deputy Inspector I Mr. Salas provided special inspection for the modifications to the existing Chemistry and Life Science Buildings <br />at Los Angeles City College. Additional construction included the fabrication and erection of a new Pedestrian Bridge between the <br />buildings. Mario provided certified welding inspection during complete fabrication at the off -site shop and inspection of the steel <br />erection at site under the direction of IOR. <br />LOS ANGELES CITY COLLEGE PHYSICAL EDUCATION BUILDING, LOS ANGELES <br />Public Works Special Inspector / Technician I Mr. Salas provided inspection services for the new construction of this two story <br />gymnasium with office space and a pool. He provided certified welding inspection for the complete fabrication of the structural <br />steel and welding of moment frame columns and beams at the off -site fabrication shop. Inspection was also provided during the <br />installation and observation of concrete placement at the site under direction of IOR. <br />A-1 VISTA STORAGE, SAN MARCOS <br />Public Works Special Inspector / Technician IMr. Salas provided Special Inspection during the erection of structural masonry <br />walls, structural steel stair casings and placement of reinforcement and light weight concrete at second, third, and roof levels. He <br />provided Quality Assurance during the application of below grade liquid waterproofing with protection barrier. <br />DESERT VALLEY HOSPITAL, VICTORVILLE <br />Public Works Special Inspector / Technician I Mr. Salas provided inspection services during the construction of this single -story <br />hospital expansion.
