Allotted a <br />new, previously underutilized, room in the ED to create and new pathway for early <br />discharges and improvement in patient experience in the emergency department. <br />The process required significant cultural change by nursing and physician practice <br />and key frequent communication with ED staff <br />Results: increased efficiency by increasing capacity without changes or <br />additions to staffing. Demonstratedreduction in AMA rates, decreased length <br />of stay for early discharge patients and anticipating improved AVATAR <br />scorers.
