Orange County currently operates four sanitary landfills. Two <br />future sites, Olinda Alpha and Bee Canyon, are scheduled to open <br />in the near future. These landfills will replace the existing <br />Olinda and Coyote Canyon stations. (see attach) <br />2. All four existing sites are Class II-2. The two new sites will <br />also be designated Class 1I-2. <br />3. Orange County will have adequate landfill capacity to last beyond <br />the year 2000. <br />4. Private collectors make collections in all areas of the County with the <br />exception of the City of Newport Beach, and the Sanitation District <br />`f- service in the Midway City, Westminster area. <br />I 5. The solid waste disposal systems are placed to accommodate continuing <br />I <br />i development within the County. <br />6. The impacts of increased population include expanded collection service <br />by the collectors and an increase in the amount of refuse to be <br />disposed. The estimated generation is approximately 7.5 lbs. per <br />person per day. <br />II The above information is considered sufficient to answer most questions <br />regarding solid waste management in Orange County.
