City of Santa Ana Addendum to the
MainPlace Mall Transformation Project Fashion Square Commercial Center Final EIR
Bus stops on the east and west sides of Main Street, south of Main Place
Drive/Town and Country Road,
Bus stops on the east side of Main Street, between City Place Drive and Memory
Lane, and
Bus stops on the south side of Memory Lane, east of Main Street.
In addition, there are several OCTA bus routes that operate 7 days a week on the
arterials that are used to access Project site, which include:
• OCTA Route 53153X that operates between the City of Anaheim and the City of
Irvine via Main Street.
• OCTA Route 54 that operates between the City of Garden Grove and the City of
Orange via Chapman Avenue.
• OCTA Route 56 that operates between the City of Garden Grove and the City of
Orange along La Veta Avenue.
• OCTA Route 83 that operates between the City of Anaheim and the City of
Laguna Hills, traveling along Main Street in the Project vicinity.
OCTA Route 453 is a Metrolink Station Route that operates weekdays only
between the Orange Transportation Center and St. Joseph's Hospital in the City
of Orange, traveling along Main Street in the Project vicinity.
These existing bus routes would continue to serve the Project site, providing
transportation to people that reside or work on the Project site. In addition, the Specific
Plan Design Guidelines include provisions to provide accessibility to transit, which
includes:
DG - 6 Buildings should be arranged to provide convenient access to transit
sto ps.
DG - 116 Bike racks, transit shelters, and other transit supportive uses should be
easily accessible and deter riders from using pedestrian walkways as riding
lanes.
The proposed Project would not alter or conflict with existing bus stops and schedules.
Therefore, impacts related to OCTA transit services would not occur from the Project.
No new impact would occur.
Pedestrian Circulation
Existing pedestrian access points into the Project site are provided in several locations.
Crosswalks are located on Main Street at the signalized intersections, and at Main
Place Drive from Bedford Road and the parking areas. A regional trail, Santiago Creek
Trail, terminates on the eastern side of Main Street, at the Broadway intersection, which
provides bicycle access to the area from the City of Orange. There are currently no
sidewalks on Main Place Drive due to the constrained right-of-way. However, walkways
exist at the mall entries and the connections with existing parking structures.
