City of Santa Ana CDBG Scope of Work Program Year 2019-20 (July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020) Name of Organization Nati's House (Neutral Ground) Name of Funded Program Summer Night Lights Annual Accomplishment Goal Unduplicated Participants anticipated to be served during the 12-month contract period. 750 TOTAL 750 Santa Ana Participants 1 100%1 750 Eow Income Participants 100% Schedule of Performance 187.5 Unduplicated (estimated) Quarter 1: JUL 1 - SEP 30 Quarter 2: OCT 1 - DEC 31 Quarter 3: JAN 1 - MAR 31 Quarter 4: APR 1 - JUN 30 Program and Funding Description Estimated Neutral Ground provides gang prevention and intervention, and positive youth programming and mentoring in Santa Ana and proposes to provide Summer Night Lights programming in at least one park in Santa Ana. Neutral Ground proposes to host Summer Night Lights for 10 weeks in EI Salvador park, June 6th- August 11th. Program mingwould be provided two (2) nights a week, Thursday and Friday nights, from 7pm-11pm. Each week would be programmed around a theme and program mingwould consist of sports/ clinics, arts and crafts, health and wellness, community resources, and special events. Sports/Clinics- Neutral Ground will utilize existing Parks and Recreation infrastructure (courts, fields, etc) to offer sports programming and skills development. Each week could culminate in a match or game on Saturday night. High lightsto this programming could be special matches between youth involved in the sports clinics and special Adult teams, such as a basketball game between youth and Santa Ana Fire Department. Arts and Crafts- Each night will have available arts and crafts tables for smaller children to engage in making a special take home artwork or craft. Local artists could be brought in to teach special one-time classes as well. Finally, local artwork created through existing Parks and Recreation classes or through local artists granted from the City of Santa Ana can be on displayfor residents to enjoy. Health and Wellness- Neutral Ground will request nonprofit and health organizationsto provide resources and materials duringthe summer. These could include free eye clinics, free dental exams, free HIV/STD testing, as well as health and wellness classes such as yoga and Zumba. Community Resources- Neutral Ground will partnerwith a variety of nonprofit organizations and City and County agenciesto provide materials and information each night. Examples of these are Latino voter registration, Libraryoutreach providing library materials and information on obtaining a library card, Department of Parks and Recreation services and classes, and LAFD providingsafety presentations and a fire truckfor children to tour. Special Events- Neutral Ground plans to incorporate special events into programming through leveraged resources and relationships.
