All pesticide operations, where required, shall be performed by a Qualified Applicator as certified by the <br />State of California Department of Pesticide Regulation. The Contractor shall be responsible for <br />compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding pesticide usage. <br />Contractor shall provide complete and continuous pest control an&or eradication of all pests or <br />diseases in accordance with the specifications contained herein. <br />1.6. IRRIGATION SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />1.6.1 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES <br />Irrigation shall be done by the use of automatic or mechanical sprinkler systems, where available and <br />operable, or manually; however, failure and/or damage of the existing irrigation system to provide full <br />and proper coverage shall not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility to provide adequate irrigation <br />with full and proper coverage to all areas in the contract work site. <br />Newly planted trees, shrubs, ground cover, and turf shall receive special attention until these plants are <br />established. Adequate water shall be applied to promote normal healthy growth. Proper berms or basins <br />shall be maintained during the establishment period. <br />Any damages to public or private property resulting from excessive irrigation water or irrigation water <br />runoff shall be charged against the contract payment unless immediate repairs are made by the <br />Contractor to the satisfaction of the City of Santa Ana. <br />Contractor shall vacuum all irrigation cabinets and controllers, both inside and outside, and maintain in <br />a thoroughly clean condition at all times. <br />1.6.2 OPERATION OF AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION CONTROLLERS <br />Where the operation of automatic irrigation controllers is required as part of this contract, the Contractor <br />shall: <br />• Do not duplicate any coded City key furnished by the Public Works Agency for access <br />and operation of the controller. <br />• Surrender all keys furnished by the Public Works Agency at the end of the contract <br />period, or at any time deemed necessary by the City of Santa Ana. <br />• Protect the security of City property by keeping controller cabinets and building doors <br />locked at all times <br />• Refrain from using premises behind locked doors for storage of materials, supplies or <br />tools, except as approved by the City of Santa Ana. <br />• Program normal irrigation between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. oras required. <br />City of Santa Ana - RFP I M48 <br />Landscape Maintenance Services of Water Pacilitias and Santa Ana Reglonal Transportation Center <br />23 <br />
