The mapping <br />was produced at 1"=20' scale and covered an area of 7 square miles <br />of rough, desert terrain. To control the survey 56 aerial targets were <br />set and tied to the California State Plane coordinate network. <br />Project: FEMA Updates Study <br />Location: Newport Beach, CA <br />Client: City of Newport Beach <br />Role: Survey Manager <br />Coast Surveying performed a survey to determine the elevations of <br />seawalls in the Newport Beach Harbor area. The purpose of the <br />survey was support computer modelling to determine if recently re- <br />published FEMA maps for the area were an accurate representation <br />of the existing conditions. Due to numerous access issues a mixture <br />of ground surveys and 1"=20' scale targeted aerial mapping were <br />used to collect the data which were delivered in GIS format. <br />RICHARD BRADY & ASSOCIATES, INC.
