Most important thing is to work with the planning <br />commission and the developer. <br /> <br />C: “I live in French Park and added parking in this parking structure is greatly <br />welcomed needed in our community. I think as neighbors, we work together with <br />the developer. He is bringing great things to our city. It is time to work together to <br />benefit from this project and to benefit the neighbors. I think it’s a wonderful idea <br />to have people live and work in the building. We need to work together.” <br /> <br />Q: How many extra parking spaces will be in the garage? <br /> <br /> A: 1,200. <br /> <br />Q: Will there be special rates in the structure for teachers or provisions in the parking <br />garage? <br /> <br />A: Yes, we have already reduced the parking rate to school teachers by 50%. <br /> <br />C: “Mike has cleaned up our neighborhoods and has restored and preserved more <br />buildings in our downtown than any other developer. He has taken a lot of boarded <br />up buildings and cleaned them up”. <br /> <br />C: “17th and Main progress is happening. Things are in place and helping the <br />community; all which are scrutinized with the code. Yes, this is a great project.” <br /> <br />C: “The city has seen a lot of change. I won’t deny that Mike Harrah has done a lot.” <br /> <br />C: I support exactly what he said, I am an Architect and fully support the live/work <br />concept. This will add a new component to the traffic issue. <br /> <br />A: Mixed-use is the future. Amazon is looking at this building as living areas <br />for their employees and work just down the street at 625 N Grand, as well <br />as live in the apartment and work in the building. <br /> <br />C: “It hurts my heart that the poor people have to live on the lower floors or not at all <br />in this building. Its good intentions. But how is the ratio determined. My humble <br />opinion” <br /> <br />C: “I would like to piggyback that comment. Housing is changing and market rate <br />determines the rates. This issue will need to be examined.” <br />5 - 274
