PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING THE PROPOSED FORMATION OF THE <br />SANTA ANA TOURISM MARKETING DISTRICT – Community Development <br />Agency <br /> <br />MOTION: Conduct a public meeting regarding the proposed formation of the <br />Santa Ana Tourism Marketing District. <br /> <br />City Manager Kristine Ridge provided a brief presentation regarding public <br />testimony pursuant to the 1994 Act. <br /> <br />Seeing no comment, proceeded to Council Agenda Items. <br /> <br />COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS - Pursuant to Santa Ana Charter Section 411, any member <br />of the City Council may place items on the City Council Agenda to be considered by the <br />City Council. Only action available to City Council is to provide direction to City <br />Manager. <br /> <br />85A. DISCUSS AND CONSIDER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO DIRECT <br />STAFF TO PREPARE A RESOLUTION OF THE SANTA ANA CITY COUNCIL <br />OPPOSING FEDERAL LEGISLATION THAT WOULD ALLOW HEAVIER OR <br />LONGER TRUCKS ON U.S. HIGHWAYS – Councilmember Mendoza <br /> <br />Council supports with no objections and provided direction to City staff to research <br />and provide an update via a memo. <br /> <br />85B. DISCUSS AND CONSIDER REQUESTING THE CITY CLERK TO ANALYZE <br />AND PREPARE A PHASED PLAN TO RETURN TO NORMAL CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETINGS INCLUDING A POTENTIAL TIMELINE FOR IMPLEMENTATION – <br />Councilmember Penaloza <br /> <br />Council discussion ensued and provided direction to staff to provide options for in- <br />person meetings and stressed the importance of planning for said meetings. <br /> <br />Mayor Pulido spoke on the various upcoming options to implement to neutralize <br />and destroy a virus. <br /> <br />MAYOR PULIDO RECESSED THE COUNCIL MEETING AND CONVENED TO THE <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING AT 7:56 P.M. <br /> <br />CHAIR PULIDO ADJOURNED THE HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING AND <br />CONVENED TO THE SPECIAL SUCCESSOR AGENCY MEETING AT 7:57 P.M. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 14 OCTOBER 6, 2020 <br /> <br />
