<br /> <br />MAYOR PULIDO ADJOURNED THE SPECIAL SUCCESSOR AGENCY MEETING AND <br />RECONVENED TO THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING AT 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90A. CITY MANAGER’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Kristine Ridge provided a Santa Ana Cares COVID update and shared one <br />of the many public service announcements that aired on Cable Channel 3, YouTube and <br />social media. Provided a partnership update with the Santa Ana Unified School District <br />called the Student Success Library Card Program. Lastly, collaborated with The <br />Discovery Science Center to roll out a Play and Go pass where residents can visit the <br />Discovery Science Center with additional Library programing in conjunction with the <br />Center’s programs. <br /> <br />90B. CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Bacerra spoke regarding the passing of John Mendez and encourages <br />all to participate in the 2020 Census, 2020Census.gov. <br /> <br />Councilmember Mendoza welcomes our newest Chaplains, informed public about the <br />water poster contest, lastly, commended Public Works Executive Director Nabil Saba and <br />Projects Manager Christy Kindig for procuring the recent 2020 Smart Energy Decision <br />Innovation Award <br /> <br />Councilmember Penaloza announced his attendance to the Transportation <br />Corridor Agency board meeting and encourages all to participate in the 2020 Census. <br /> <br />Mayor Pulido suggested a giant flyer to be draped over the water tower to bring attention <br />to the 2020 Census. <br /> <br />Councilmember Penaloza noted that there is funding available for census outreach. <br /> <br />Councilmember Solorio agrees with the importance of one last push to encourage Census <br />participation. Requested staff to send a letter to thank Orange County Fire Authority <br />(OCFA) firefighters for quickly responding to fires, spoke on the CARES events, and <br />spoke on the various median improvements. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sarmiento agrees with the use of outreach funds to encourage residents <br />to participate in the 2020 Census, encourages the re-deployment of employees who were <br />laid off to assist with the CARES Act outreach efforts, requested WiFi status update, and <br />lastly, encouraged communication staff to walk folks through in how to fill out a ballot and <br />vote. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Villegas thanked OCFA for all their hard work. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 15 OCTOBER 6, 2020 <br /> <br />
