(9) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />J_I0121WZT9111.10 <br />A. The City of Santa Ana (the "City"), incorporated in 1886, is located in Orange County, <br />California, which is considered to be one of the top growth areas in the state, as well as in <br />the country. The City currently occupies a land area of 27.2 square miles and serves a <br />population of approximately 338,000. The City of Santa Ana is a full service City of <br />approximately 1050 full-time and 510 part-time employees with twelve (12) agencies <br />(departments). The City Council is composed of an elected Mayor and six (6) Council <br />Members. <br />B. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT <br />The City's Information Technology Department (ITD) is comprised of a group of 24 <br />employees that includes the Infrastructure and Applications divisions, as well as the <br />Administration and Technology Support units. The team is augmented through various <br />professional services agreements which provide staffing and managed services. The <br />departmented is headed by the Chief Technology Innovations Officer, who serves as it <br />director and reports directly to the City Manager. <br />The combined team of employees and contractors serve as a centralized IT organization to <br />support the technology needs of the entire organization. (The Police Department has a small <br />group of direct employees who provide desktop support and specialized application support <br />for that department). <br />The City is currently contracted with several vendors, under the staff augmentation service <br />model. These contracts are set to expire on February 6, 2021. Other agreements with <br />vendors for managed services are set to expire are various future dates. <br />The City recognizes that the staff augmentation model is only one model of providing IT <br />services. Different models are also used by the department, when beneficial to the <br />organization. However, This RFP only relates to the agreements related to staff <br />augmentation portion of IT services. <br />C. CITY IT ENVIRONMENT <br />There are more than 23 facilities throughout the City of Santa Ana that are serviced by ITD. <br />These include City Hall, Ross Annex, Parks, Community Centers, 2 Libraries, and Police <br />Headquarters. The ITD is located in City Hall, but supports all locations. The ITD coordinates <br />services with the PD IT organization. <br />1. Data Centers <br />The City currently has two data centers housing IT infrastructure: City Hall and Police <br />Headquarters. There are approximately 1,500 users, employees and contractors, <br />supported either on -premise or remotely through VPN. <br />2. Network and Telecom <br />The City's network environment consists of 115 Cisco switches, 20 Aruba Switches, 297 <br />Aruba wireless access points, 5 Aruba WiFi controllers, 7 Cisco routers, 3 Fortinet <br />firewalls, 3 Cisco firewalls, and numerous video cameras. The City also operates a Mite] <br />VOIP phone system with more than 1,100 users.
