30 <br />Satisfactory Academic Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is defined as maintaining a minimum Cumulative <br />Progress Policy (SAP) for Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 or cumulative grade average (CGA) of 70% (qualitative <br />Certificate, Associate, progress) and earning 67% of the credits or hours attempted (quantitative progress). For a <br />and Bachelor's Degree clock hour program, the maximum time frame shall not exceed 1.5 times the normal <br />Programs duration of the program. For a credit hour program, the credit hours attempted cannot <br />exceed 1.5 times the credit hours required to complete the program. <br />Satisfactory Academic Progress Evaluation <br />Satisfactory progress is evaluated at the end of each quarter once all grades have been <br />posted and is evaluated by the Education and Registrar departments. <br />Satisfactory Academic Progress Warning Status <br />A student who does not achieve the minimum required qualitative and quantitative <br />progress at the end of a quarter will be notified in writing and placed on Warning for the <br />next quarter. At the end of the next quarter, either: <br />1. if the student has achieved the minimum required qualitative and quantitative <br />progress, the student will be notified in writing and removed from Warning, or <br />2. If the student has not achieved the minimum required qualitative and/or <br />quantitative progress, the student will be notified in writing that they are to be <br />dismissed unless the student files an appeal, and the appeal is approved. <br />Appeal Process and Probation <br />The student may submit a written appeal of his/her dismissal within five calendar days of <br />his/her receipt of the dismissal notice. The appeal should be addressed to the <br />Executive/Education Director. The appeal must be accompanied by documentation of the <br />mitigating circumstances that have prevented the student from attaining satisfactory <br />academic progress. Only extraordinary circumstances will be considered, such as death or <br />severe illness in the immediate family. <br />The Executive/Education Director will assess all appeals and determine whether the <br />student may be permitted to continue on a probationary status, despite not meeting <br />satisfactory progress requirements. The student will be sent the written decision within 10 <br />days of Learnet Academy's receipt of the appeal. The decision of the Executive/Education <br />Director is final. Students reinstated upon appeal are on probationary status for the next <br />quarter during which time they must meet the terms and conditions set out in the <br />Executive/Education Director's Academic Plan included with the letter granting the appeal. <br />At the end of the probationary quarter, and every quarter thereafter, the student's <br />satisfactory academic progress will be reviewed. The student may continue on probation as <br />long as he or she meets the terms of the Academic Plan. Once the student has re- <br />established satisfactory academic progress, the student will be notified In writing and <br />removed from probation within 90 days (lquarter), or within 30 days for short term <br />program.
