SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS <br />To be in good standing with the school and to be eligible to <br />receive Title IV financial aid, students must maintain Satisfactory <br />Academic Progress ("SAP"). Satisfactory Academic Progress <br />consists of: <br />1. Qualitative Standards- Cumulative grade point average <br />(CGPA) requirements; and <br />2. Quantitative Standards- Completion rate requirements <br />(Pace). <br />Students who do not meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress <br />requirements may be withdrawn from the school. <br />QUALITATIVE STANDARDS —CUMULATIVE GPA <br />REQUIREMENTS <br />Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 to <br />graduate. To demonstrate SAP, the student must maintain a <br />minimum CGPA of 2.0 at each evaluation point (see below) <br />throughout their enrollment at the school. All courses a student <br />attempts at the school Is factored in and calculated Into their <br />CGPA. <br />QUANTITATIVE STANDARDS — COMPLETION RATE <br />REQUIREMENTS (PACE) <br />To ensure completion of the program within the maximum <br />allowable timeframe, students must achieve and maintain a <br />cumulative completion rate ("Pace") of 60%. Pace is equal to the <br />cumulative number of credits completed divided bythe <br />cumulative number of credits attempted. <br />pace = Cumulative Number of Credits Completed <br />Cumulative Number of Credits Attempted <br />Maximum Program Length (150%Rule) <br />The credit hours attempted must not exceed one and a half <br />(150%) times the students' Academic Plan SAP Units. For example, <br />a student enrolled in a 1e0-credit hour program cannot attempt <br />more than 150 credit hours. Any student who exceeds the 150% <br />maximum time requirement will not be allowed to graduate from <br />their program of study. If at any point during the student's <br />enrollment it becomes mathematically impossible for the student <br />to complete their program within the maximum program length, <br />the student will be withdrawn from the school. <br />Maximum Attempts <br />Students may only attempt a course three (3) times. If the student <br />cannot complete the course after three attempts, they may be <br />withdrawn from the school. Students can appeal to the Dean of <br />Education to attempt a course more than the aforementioned <br />amount as long as the subsequent attempt(s) of the course <br />Academics <br />provides that the student would be able to meet all other SAP <br />requirements. <br />SATISFACTORY PROGRESS EVALUATION CRITERIA <br />EVALUATION POINTS <br />Students will be evaluated at the end of each Enrolled Quarter for <br />the duration of their program to check whether or not they are <br />meeting SAP requirements. If a student is not meeting SAP <br />requirements at any evaluation point, then they will be placed on <br />Financial Aid Warning or Financial Aid Probation (Academic <br />Probation) depending on the circumstance (see Financial Aid <br />Warning and Financial Aid Probation policies in this Catalog). <br />MULTIPLE MAJORS <br />A student may major in more than one program if approved by <br />the Dean of Education. If a student majors in more than one <br />program, then the students' Academic Plan required course list <br />will reflect all courses the student will be required to complete in <br />order to graduate from each respective program. If a student <br />changes programs throughout their enrollment, then (1) all <br />previously attempted courses at the school are considered and <br />included in the calculations for both the quantitative and <br />qualitative standards of SAP, and (2) the total required units <br />respective to the 150%Rule includes all units the student needs <br />to complete for their new major and all courses the student <br />Previously attempted that was required for their prior major. <br />FINANCIAL AID WARNING <br />If a student falls to meet satisfactory academic progress at any <br />evaluation point throughout his/her program, the student will be <br />placed on a Financial Aid Warning Status for a maximum of one <br />(1) Quarter, effective on the date of evaluation. The student will <br />be notified that they are placed on a Financial Aid Warning Status <br />within two weeks after the date of evaluation. The student is <br />eligible to receive Financial Aid for the quarter in which the <br />student Is on a Financial Aid Warning Status. If the student fails to <br />meet all SAP requirements at the end of the students Financial Aid <br />Warning Status period, the student may be dropped from the <br />school unless he/she appeals to the Dean of Education to be <br />placed on Financial Aid Probation.
