This course <br />covers planning a Windows Server <br />based network. Topics <br />Include basic configuration of switches, <br />Virtual LAN's (VLANs), and switch <br />protocols. Formerly <br />N150B. <br />1S121 ROUTER ADMINISTRATION <br />4 UNITS <br />PREREQUISITE: 15120 <br />This course covers the basic function <br />and operation of a network router and <br />then goes on to include more advanced <br />features of network routers. Firewall <br />concepts are discussed as well. Topics <br />Include Implementation of routing <br />tables, static and dynamic routing <br />protocols, and ACL's. Formerly <br />N140B. <br />15122 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER <br />SECURITY AND WIRELESS NETWORKS <br />4 UNITS <br />PREREQUISITE: 1S121 <br />This course covers general computer <br />networking security concept, Including a <br />review of common risks (back door <br />attacks, spoofing attacks, man In the <br />middle attacks, etc.), TCP/IP security <br />concerns, review of monitoring and <br />intrusion detection, implementing and <br />maintaining a secure network. This <br />course also reviews wireless networks <br />and establishing secure, reliable <br />wireless networking Infrastructures. <br />Course Descriptions <br />15122 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER <br />SECURITY AND WIRELESS NETWORKS <br />LAB <br />4 UNITS <br />COREQUISITE: IS122 <br />This lab allows students to work on <br />devices in a lab setting as it relates to <br />15122. <br />15170 INTRODUCTION TO <br />INFORMATION SYSTEMS <br />2 UNITS <br />This course Introduces students to the <br />Current trends the Information <br />technology/systems Industry and <br />discusses general topics such as a survey <br />of the types of industries, career growth <br />process In the information <br />technology/systems field, overview of <br />common functional separations, roles of <br />engineers and technicians in the field, <br />and other topics as relevant. <br />IS210 INTRODUCTION TO OPEN SOURCE <br />SYSTEMS <br />2 UNITS <br />This course reviews the Linux operating <br />system and how open source systems <br />and tools and be used to replicate many <br />of the services offered by other <br />commercial systems. Student review the <br />Unux file system, command line, users <br />and permissions, process management, <br />network services, development tools <br />and basic administration. Formerly C450 <br />when taken with I5210L. <br />IS21CLOPEN SOURCE SYSTEMS LAB <br />2 UNITS <br />COREQUISITE: 1S210 <br />This course allows students to configure <br />and administer the Linux operating <br />system and perform tasks as it relates to <br />concepts studied in IS210. Formerly <br />C450 when taken with IS210. <br />IS230A NETWORK SECURITY AND <br />DEFENSE <br />2 UNITS <br />PREREQUISITE: 1S122 <br />This course expands on security <br />concepts covered in IS122 to Include <br />more advanced topics such as intrusion <br />detection methods, cryptography, <br />application security, operation security <br />and compliances in regards to IT <br />security.
