• MODERN TECHNOLOGY SCHOOL - SCHOOL CATALOG • <br />CLINICAL INTERNSHIP Continued.... <br />Once eligible; the selection criteria for placement in a clinical site are as follows: <br />1. Best attendance/punctuality in the class. <br />2. Level of clinical competency in medical assisting, x-ray & ultrasound/vascular procedures. <br />3. Best overall grade point average. <br />4. Conduct in the classroom & labs — with specific emphasis on interaction with peers/staff. <br />5. Probation's accrued. <br />6. Instructor recommendation. <br />Other selection requirements: <br />1. If a student declines an offered clinical site, he/she has 14 calendar days to personally <br />procure a viable clinical site; failure to do so may result in a drop from the program. <br />2. Any student fired from a clinical site has 14 calendar days to personally procure a viable <br />clinical site; failure to do so may result in a drop from the program. <br />3. If a student is required to find his/her own clinical site, he/she is prohibited from <br />contacting facilities that are under contract with Modern Technology School at that time. <br />If the student contacts one of the currently contracted facilities, disciplinary action, up to <br />and including expulsion, will be taken. <br />4. If subsequent to placement in a clinical site, any student demonstrates academic failure <br />of any component, module, or final exam, the following may occur: <br />a. If a student is required to repeat, due to failure, any class, component, or module <br />of the program, that student may be pulled from his/her clinical site permanently. <br />The student will be suspended from clinic until that student successfully <br />demonstrates academic competency in the repeated class, component, or <br />module. <br />b. This may extend the completion date of the program. <br />CLINICAL PROTOCOLS <br />A professional attitude during clinical internship is required by the clinical facilities and the school. The <br />clinical intern student is expected to follow all clinical protocols and rules and take pride in his/her <br />participation. The clinical intern student is expected to be in attendance during all scheduled hours. <br />He/she must never reveal any confidential medical information to patients or their family. Good <br />personal hygiene is mandatory and dress code must meet clinical department requirements. If you fail <br />to notify the clinical site and/or the school of your need to be absent, disciplinary action will be taken. <br />No time off or vacation is to be taken during your clinical rotation, except for a formal leave of absence. <br />-Published January 1, 2020/ Effective through December 31, 2020. __ All Rights Reserved O Visit ns at www.mtsehooLalu <br />
