Environmental Sustainability Efforts
In wanting to protect our environment as best we can, Hundred Flowers will take advanced steps
to lessen our carbon footprint. These steps include:
- Exploring the addition of solar energy outfitting of the building or parking
structures, or buying renewable energy offsets from our utility provider
- Using environmentally sensitive and low impact landscaping, with a
particular eye to drought -resistant flora and foliage
- Purchase material and items that are made under sustainable conditions
or with sustainable materials
• This would include cannabis and non -cannabis products, office
supplies, construction materials, etc.
- Reduce employee single automobile trips by via promotion of carpools,
mass transit, biking, etc.
• We plan to provide incentives for employees (and to a degree
customers) to use single use automobile trip alternatives
- Solid Waste Audit and Management Plan
• Ensure all materials are being recycled where able, and non -
recyclable waste is minimized
- Install low -flow and retrofit existing fixtures to be low -flow to lessen water
usage
- Provide proper HVAC equipment and installation to enhance indoor air
quality
- Use only green cleaning products on the premises.
- Annual LEED and Energy Audits
Continuous Energy Use Performance Tracking
All of these measures are based on US Green Building LEED certification protocols. While
Hundred Flowers cannot make a legally binding commitment to make its building LEED
certified, we can commit to enacting measures that would bring us as close as we can.
Local Focus
Hundred Flowers is gracious of the support of Santa Ana and, in turn, wants to be gracious in
our support to Santa Ana. Hundred Flowers will express this gratitude in 2 ways: 1) a
commitment to local hiring of Santa Ana residents, and 2) a commitment to source products and
services from purveyors in Santa Ana as much as possible.
As far as local hiring goes, we have a set goal of having at least 60% of our workforce
comprised of residents of Santa Ana. Over the years of operation, as more and more
employees are needed and hired, Hundred Flowers will give preference to applicants with
addresses in Santa Ana. We will also actively recruit hires from Santa Ana by relying on Santa
Ana based employment agencies, workforce centers, and Santa Ana College. All job postings
will state explicitly that we encourage Santa Ana residents to apply, and this job postings will be
advertised through venues local to Santa Ana. Our job postings will also mention competitive
salary, benefits, and the fact that those with minor previous cannabis convictions are
encouraged to apply.
Additionally, Hundred Flowers pledges to source the necessities of its business operations from
local providers. This would include everything from office supplies and cleaning services to
cannabis producers based in Santa Ana.
[us
