EXHIBIT A
COMMUNITY BENEFIT AND SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES PLAN
Local Non-profit Support
Hundred Flowers will support the following local non-profit and community organizations at a
minimum rate of $1,000 a month each:
• Orange County Head Start
o OC Head Start is an organization located in Santa Ana that provides self -
empowerment and self-improvement guidance to low-income youth through
academic support, tutoring, school readiness across all academic subjects, as
well as family support and parental guidance. OC Head Start assures youth from
all backgrounds — foster care, homeless, racial, low-income — have access to
educational resources to ensure their long-term life and career success.
• Think Together
o Think Together shares a similar mission as Orange County Head Start and
overlaps in some of it program administration. This is because education is vital
for breaking cycles of poverty and providing paths to stability and sustainability.
Think Together provides four main programs to achieve this goal: early childhood
learning support, afterschool activities, general academic and life support
services, and support for schools and teachers in education implementation.
• WisePlace
o Like all Southern California cities, Santa Ana faces challenges in dealing with its
homeless populations. There is no better place than WisePlace in dealing with all
the needs of homeless individuals. WisePlace not only offers emergency shelter,
but a total spectrum of services that get to the root causes of homelessness to
correct them. This includes case management, counseling, job assistance, goal
planning, financial management, housing transition, and health care.
• Latino Health Access
o Based in Santa Ana, Latino Health Access has a three -fold mission: 1. to reduce
the burden of chronic disease amongst disadvantaged Latino groups; 2. to
strengthen family mental and emotional health amongst Latino populations; and 3.
to create healthier communities through a culturally competent and collaborative
approach. Given that minority groups such as Latino are at much greater risk of
negative health outcomes and the largest portion of Santa Ana's population is
Latino, offering supporting to health services to ensure that the Latino community
can thrive and not survive is incredibly important to us.
• GoodLearning Academy
o Part of Goodwill Orange County, a nationally known non-profit, the GoodLearning
Academy is focused on providing job training services to residents in Santa Ana
and beyond. Located of Fairview Ave., GoodLearning Academy provides training
on the use of technology, effective interpersonal, communication skills, leadership
development modules, and other hard and soft skill development classes.
