<br />MUNICIPAL' The goal of this water treatment plant (WTP( control system Upgrade project was
<br />DISTRICT to improve water quality to control microbial pathogens by installing improved
<br />membrane filtration units, strainers, pump stations. aeration blowers, and
<br />hydraulic energy recovery turbines. The David C. McCollom WTP is one of only
<br />REFERENCE three plants in the world that have zero water waste.
<br />David Smith Modifications to the 34 mgd McCollom WTP included three new UL control
<br />Water Treatment Plant Manager panels, major updates to six existing panels, six new CPUs, 174 new instruments,
<br />760.415.2304 and 2,000a new 1/0 points. Trimax upgraded the existing SCADA system from
<br />dsmith@olivenhain.com Wonderwafe System Platform to Inductive Automation Ignition. Including
<br />upgraded reporting from Operator-10.
<br />CONTRACT
<br />$851,800 System upgrades included controls for the new plant membrane control, blower
<br />room control, backwash equalization, residuals handling, coagulants, polymers,
<br />DATES caustics, citric acid, sodium hypochlorite feed system. ammonia feed, fluoride
<br />2011-2013 feed, centrifuge, and solids handling facilities. Trimax integrated two operator
<br />workstations In the Control Room, and five industrial PC workstations on the plant
<br />EQUIPMENT AND Floor to enable operators to remotely access SCADA from any computer with the
<br />SOFTWARE proper IT credentials for login.
<br />• Ignition SCADA Project challenges included a 60-day plant shutdown for the installation
<br />is Allen-Bradley PLCs and commissioning of all equipment before the mandatory project
<br />• Ethernet/Fiber completion date. Trimax accomplished our work on -schedule.
<br />Application software included. redundant controllers, ControlN et Ethernet,
<br />servers, and auto -dialers. Trimax also provided PID programming, ramping
<br />functions, Flow pacing, weight formulas, historical trending. operator
<br />customizable trending and reporting, exponential equation reporting, and system -

<br />Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades:
<br />Trimax was subsequently selected to
<br />upgrade the WTP Distribution System
<br />SCADA application from Wonderware to
<br />Ignition by Inductive Automation, with
<br />TopView alarming software implemented
<br />for remote dialing and alerting. Trimax
<br />also upgraded the District's OMWD
<br />Wastewater Treatment Plant from
<br />Wonderware to Ignition.
<br />Trimax provides ongoing District -
<br />wide maintenance and as -needed
<br />troubleshooting services.
