EXHIBIT C - PROPOSAL <br />w <br />U <br />w <br />2 <br />U <br />Q <br />O <br />oe <br />COMPLETED 2017 <br />PROJECT TEAM <br />David Schnee, Design Director <br />Andrea Gifford, Director of Interiors <br />MAIN LIBRARY REVITALIZATION <br />DAYTON OH <br />The original Main Library in Dayton, Ohio was a dark, inwardly - <br />focused mid-century modern structure. Group 4's design <br />gutted the interior of the former building doubled its size with <br />a new, three-story wing. The expanded library is the flagship <br />of the Dayton Metro Library system — a new landmark and <br />community destination at the intersection of the downtown <br />commercial core and cultural district. <br />The revitalized building fully integrates into its downtown <br />context and embraces the adjacent park. The old building <br />and new wing are connected by a stunning three-story, light - <br />filled atrium criss-crossed by bridges that provide places of <br />engagement and collaboration. The existing underground <br />floors were converted to parking, and the public and operations <br />functions were moved up into the light. <br />Jonathan Hartman, Consulting Principal Destination features of the expanded Main Library include <br />more than 30 spaces for gathering and collaboration, ranging <br />CLIENT CONTACT in capacity from four to 400 people. The black box theater and <br />Tim Kambitsch multi -configurable forum support creative and performing arts <br />Executive Director (retired) as well as large library and community programs.
