16 | February 28, 2023 | David Evans and Associates, Inc. <br />Proposal to provide <br />Landscape Architectural Design Services for 10th and Flower Park — RFP No. 22-124 <br />LEGEND <br />SITE <br />BUSBUS <br />Existing Tree <br />Bus Stop <br />Pedestrian Access <br />Highly Visible Corner NORTH GARNSEY STREETRESIDENTIAL <br />OC PUBLIC DEFENDER <br />PARKING LOT <br />MULTI -FAMILY <br />NORTH <br />WEST 10TH STREET <br />NORTH FLOWER STREETRESIDENTIAL <br />Challenge <br />Adjacent to high volume street poses challenge for noise, safety and <br />exposure to pollutants. <br />Solution <br />Park design will look to create a park border to help reduce these impacts <br />while active play features will be located away from Flower. <br />A <br />B Challenge <br />Park perimeter issues include the Garnsey Street homes and the street itself, <br />street parking, determination of right-of-way, curb and sidewalk conditions. <br />Solution <br />DEA will work closely with the City to determine street parking requirements <br />and the impact on park users as well as improving pedestrian site access. <br />B <br />B <br />Challenge <br />South edge of site is directly adjacent to neighboring parking lot. <br />Solution <br />Park design will screen the parking lot, DEA will work with the City to <br />determine if access is needed. <br />C <br />RESIDENTIAL <br />0.3 miles to Storybook Preschool <br />0.3 miles to Santa Ana Public Library <br />0.2 miles to Santa Ana Stadium <br />NEIGHBORHOOD <br />C <br />D Challenge <br />Existing site soil conditions could prevent proper infiltration or bio-filtration. <br />Solution <br />These conditions can be solved using proprietary water quality structures <br />similar to those found at other City parks. <br />DA <br />0.5 miles to Santa Ana City Hall <br />CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS <br />The following diagram depicts our understanding of the challenges associated with this project site.
