Los Serranos Park <br />Chino Hills, CA <br />Completion Date: 2019 Client Reference <br />Project Size: 6 Acres Jonathan Marshall <br />Design Cost: $ 332,000 Community Services Director <br />Construction Cost: $ 3.9 M City of Chino Hills <br />(909) 364-2711 1 jarshall@chinohills.org <br />Project Summary <br />Los Serranos Park is a six -acre community park and ajoint use agreement project between the <br />City of Chino Hills and Chino Valley Unified School District. The project is located on vacant school <br />property adjacent to Chaparral Elementary School. In the center of the historic Los Serranos <br />residential neighborhood, this new park will provide long awaited park space for the community. <br />Because the park will be constructed on school property, the plans will need to be go through the <br />DSA and CGS approval process. <br />Park amenities include a state of the art play area with contemporary play structures, including <br />a zipline, as well as hopscotch and foursquare for more traditional play elements. Other park <br />amenities include a central activity plaza surrounded with low seat walls with tile artwork drawn <br />by local children, group picnic pads with overhead structures, a restroom building, LED pedestrian <br />lighting, fitness equipment stations around a decomposed granite looped walking path, picnic <br />table pads, bench seating areas, entry monumentation, and low water use trees and shrubs. <br />Meandering rock cobble drainage swales located throughout the park will be planted with wild <br />flowers and low growing shrubs, and a biofiltration basin of native grasses will reinforce the feel of <br />an outdoor natural oasis within the Los Serranos District. <br />Project Team <br />Principal: <br />Project Manager: <br />Larry Ryan <br />Pamela Burton <br />R,J MGROUP <br />GROUP <br />14 1 City of Santa Ana • On -Call Landscape Architectural Services <br />
