Basic Student Eligibility Requirements for Federal Student Aid <br />• Be enrolled as a regular student in our certificate program <br />• Have a high school diploma or equivalent <br />• Make satisfactory academic progress <br />• Meet enrollment status requirements <br />• Have resolved any drug conviction issue(s) <br />• Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non -citizen <br />• Have resolved any default on a FSA loan or overpayment <br />• Have a valid social security number <br />• Men aged 18 — 25 must register with the Selective Services System or meet exemption <br />requirements <br />• Resolve any conflicting information <br />Application Process <br />Step I —Apply <br />• Submit a Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov <br />• List Federal School Code 035904 <br />Step 2 — Submit Forms <br />• Review Financial Aid checklist and provide completed documents <br />• Submit the required forms to the Financial Aid Office in person <br />• Resolve all issues in order to process award <br />Step 3 — Financial Aid Disbursements <br />• You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to receive award <br />• The Financial Aid office will disburse award and apply into your student account <br />Verification <br />The Federal government requires a percentage of financial aid applicants to complete a <br />process called Verification. This is a process used by the U.S. Department of Education <br />to check accuracy of information you reported on the FAFSA.
