Orozco, Norma <br />From: <br />Sent: Tuesday, August 01, 2023 12:08 PM <br />To: eComment <br />Subject: Intoxication Detention and Service Offering Policy <br />I am very concerned about this new policy proposal to feed and process even more needy persons <br />into the criminal system. <br />It appears that this is a way to drum up new business for the new proposed jail facility, not truly <br />addressing the underlying causes and problems of <br />intoxication. And add even more concerns to police who are not at this moment very prepared to help <br />with mental health services. <br />Please rethink this and find different ways to spend our community resources to focus on helping <br />people address their hopelessness. <br />Thank you for your time. <br />Denise Sawicz <br />1 <br />
