1.Experience/Qualifications (I page max) <br />Located in Anaheim, California, the Orange County Conservation Corps (OCCC) was founded in <br />1993 as a part of the Anaheim anti-gang task force, and serves at-risk youth ages 18-26 years old <br />throughout Orange County, California. OCCC is a 501 ( c) (3) and currently has a team of 11 board <br />members, and 30 full time staff members. Many of OCCC staff are graduates of our program, and <br />continued to give back through leadership and mentor roles. The OCCC mission is: "To serve <br />young, at-risk adults through employment, training and educational programs that build self­ <br />sufficiency and benefit the community through conservation driven projects." OCCC headquarters <br />is open 7-5pm Monday through Thursday and 8-12pm Friday and located off Raymond and <br />Orangethorpe at: 1853 North Raymond Ave., Anaheim CA 92801, with several major public <br />transportation access points, public parking, and bike locks. OCCC also offers Corpsmember pick­ <br />up points throughout Santa Ana, Anaheim, Buena Park and surrounding areas as needed. Facilities <br />decor highlight youth success and youth, entering facilities are greeted by Corpsmembers in <br />professional training positions, within a state-of-the-art conservation building. Operational <br />facilities and educational programs are located less than 6 miles away at 6101 S. Dupont Dri ve, <br />Anaheim CA 92806, in collaboration with the Orange County Department of Education, College <br />and Career Preparatory Academy (CCP A). <br />OCCC actively administers the Santa Ana WIOA Youth Programs contract. For the past 15 years <br />OCCC has met and/or exceeded all contract measures. OCCC staff continues to deliver services <br />_to a majority of out _of school youth through WIOA contracts year over year,-in a long-standi ng <br />record of service excellence and contract management. OCCC operates an annual budget of over <br />$5M with major funding prov ided from the State of California, Anaheim, Santa Ana and OC <br />WIOA, North Orange County Public Safety Task Force, fees for service contracts, and various <br />grants to OCCC. <br />In our 29th year of operation, OCCC provides pathways to skill development resources, <br />employment, train ing, and educational services to Orange County's hardest-to-reach and neediest <br />segment of our young adult population. In these 29 years, OCCC has provided paid job training <br />program support to over 10,000 opportunity youth and their families by instilling a strong work <br />ethic, developing an individual's self-worth, while providing the necessary experience and job <br />skills to ensure that our young adults become successful candidates in the workforce. No other <br />organization in Orange County provides as many hours of paid work experience-up to 29 hours <br />a week at a minimum of $15.00 per hour. Last year OCCC paid over 103,000 hours to our <br />Corpsmembers and over 500,000 hours during the past 5 ye ars. <br />Exhibit 2
