Commissioner Giles <br />• Expressed personal welcome to Commissioner Richardson and noted him <br />being a valuable resource on the Commission; and thanked staff for allowing <br />Commission to consider many properties at once rather than doing each item <br />individually. <br />Commissioner Gartner <br />• Thanked Commission for excusing his absence at previous meeting while <br />traveling in Pennsylvania with clients. <br />Commissioner Corvin <br />• Inquired when is the next Template Committee meeting. Scheduled for <br />Friday, March 9 at 3:30 p.m. <br />Commissioner Richardson <br />• Noted he was happy to be on the Commission. <br />Commissioner Chinn <br />• Commissioner Chinn noted a memo to the Mayor asking if Santa Ana would <br />like to be included in a self guided city walking tour which would include <br />placing small circular markers in the sidewalks at points of interest with a logo <br />of a major sponsor. Commissioner Chin asked for staff's thoughts on the <br />memo and will forward a copy to staff. <br />Passed out brochure for Habitat for Humanity of O.C. Restore located on <br />Grand Avenue which is a warehouse for recycling building materials with <br />historical items for salvage. <br />• Received a copy of a letter to Elizabeth Neives of Heritage Orange County <br />from the City regarding the demolition of the Bush St. and Spurgeon St. and <br />expressed his concern that the City is not going the right way in demolishing <br />buildings. <br />Pleased to see Commissioner Richardson on Commission. <br />• Announced the Historical Santa Ana Preservation Society has a book on sale <br />of 200+ postcards of Santa Ana and can get a signed copy get from Guy Ball <br />on Thursday, March 8, 7:30 p.m. at the Bowers Museum. <br />• Reported a great deal of graffiti on Fourth Street on the very top of the <br />buildings. Mr. Sergio Klotz noted staff is handling. <br />Commissioner Bustamante <br />Thanked staff for outstanding job they did and also welcomed both <br />Commissioners Richardson and Rankin. <br />Commissioner Rankin <br />• Noted her delight to be on Commission. <br />Madam Chair Kinas <br />• Requested that the front page of the agenda packets be updated as well as <br />the address list. <br />• Requested staff prepare a certificate to Archibald Berry for his time on the <br />Commission_ <br />• Requested once staff receives the memo regarding the city walking tour, that <br />staff review in relation to the proposed plaque program. <br />• Thanked the Template Review Committee and staff for all the work on the <br />templates and thanked the consultant. <br />• Noted her attendance at the annual dinner for the Santa Ana Historical <br />Preservation Society and also noted they are approaching completion of a <br />downtown walking tour guide. <br />• Announced she heard L.A.
