Case: Islamic Position on Corruption <br />1. The Quranic Position on Corruption <br />a) And do not go about spreading corruption in the land. [ 2:601 <br />b) Allah does not like corruption. [2:205] <br />c) Do not spread corruption in the land after it has been set in order. [7:56] <br />d) And those who violate Allah's covenant after it has been affirmed, break <br />whatever ties' Allah has ordered to be maintained, and spread corruption in the <br />land —it is they who will be condemned and will have the worst abode. ["13:25] <br />2. Prophetic I3adith on Islamic (leadership: <br />a) Narrated Micldam ibn Madikarib; Abu Umarnah: The Prophet (pbuh) said: "When <br />a ruler seeks to make imputations against the people, lie corrupts them." [Sunan Abi <br />Dawood 4889, Book of Ethics] Graded as Sahih (authentic). <br />b) Narrated Abdullah ibn `Ungar: I heard Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be <br />upon him) saying: "Every one of you is a guardian, and responsible for what is in his <br />custody: The ruler is a guardian of his subjects and responsible for them;.." [Sahih <br />al-Bukhari, Book of Judgments, 7.138] Graded as Sahih (authentic). <br />c) Ma'gil ibn Yasar reported from the Prophet that Paradise is forbidden for any <br />person in authority who dies while he is dishonest in his dealings with those under <br />his rule.
