The notice of election for bonds for water and fire was read and on.motion of Alderman~ seconded by McPhee, passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Alderman, McPhee, Greenleaf and Nom,, Trustees None. Absent, Trustee Gruhb. Resolution No.560, a Resolution of Intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha, to pave the roadway of ~orth Broadway,between the North line of Hickey Street~ and the South line of Santa Clara Avenue,with a pavement of cement concrete base and wearing surface of asp.halt con- crete, and that the same be done under the bond act,approv- ed February ~.7, 189~, was on motion referred to the City Attorney. 0~ motion of McPhee, seconded by Alderman, the following Resolution was passed and adopted: That this Board of Trustees requests the State Railroad Oom:.~ission to grant the Pacific Electric Railway Company permission to cross the tracks of the Southern Pacific Rail- road Company, and the A.T.& S.F. coast lines, on ~ast 4th Street,at grade, when completing the construction of its line to the r, astern City limits. The report of Street Inspector A.D.~wartzell,accepting the paving on ~ast l~irst Street,between ~5 feet West of th$ West line of Garfield Street and the West line of the Smnta Fe track was on motion ordered filed. On motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, it is ordered that a commdttee be appointed to confer with the property owners, and with the Board of Education to loo~ up the proposition of a street at the Poly High School grounds. Trustees Alderman and EcPhee and Oity Engineer Finley were naa. ed as the Co~nittee. On motion of Alderman, d~ly seconded and carried, Superin- tendent Reid is instru'c~ed to build a road drag.
