Bennett <br /> <br />In Re Electric Sign <br />108 East Fourth St. <br /> <br />on motion <br /> <br />Ordinance No.561, Am'Ordinance of the Oity of Santa Aha, <br />relating to public plays, exhibitions and performances, <br />and the suppression of immoral, indecent and offensive <br />pictures and performances, and creating a censor com- <br />mission for certain purposes was read and on motion <br />referred to the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Mr. Jacobs appeared before the Board and asked that a <br />committee be appointed with the view of saving & row <br />of trees on North Broadway near Santa Olaf&. The follow- <br />ing commitee w·e appointed: Trustees Alderman~nd ~y <br />and City gngineer Finley. <br /> <br />An application for an electric sign in front of Sl~ock's <br /> <br />Jewelry store on 2ast Fourth Street was ~ ~n <br /> <br />motion referred to City Building Inspector and ~ity <br />Electrician, to aec that sign conforms to City Ordinance. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of MoFnee, seconded by Greenleaf and carried, <br />a permission is granted the gestern Auto Association the <br />use of City streets for the Phoenix road race to be held <br />Nov. trd, 191$,between the hours of 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. <br />provided however, that the streets are amply policed~&~' <br />the expense of the Auto Association. <br /> <br /> The request of Mr. g·lm~le~ to remove two trees at <br /> <br />20~ Brown Street was on motion referred to the Street <br /> <br />Oommittee with power to act. <br /> <br />An affidavit of J.M. Foster complaining excessive rates <br />charged by Mr.O.A.Bennett for aut~ aexwice was presented. <br />On motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, the <br />license of C.A.Bennett is withheld until an investigation <br />by the Police Committee and if found guilty Mt.Bennett <br />will be refused · license. The City Marshal is instrttot- <br />ed to notify Mt.Bennett to cease business operations until <br />the charges are satisfactorily pa~sed upon by the Committee. <br /> <br />The Paokard-Roberteon Electric Company made application <br />for an electric si~n at 1CS kst Fourth Street, on motion <br /> <br /> <br />
