Haleeworth appeared before the Beard and requested ~hat property owners be allowed to slope sidewalk back to gutter on 10th and Broadway at the expense of the property owners. On motion duly seconded and carried, the matter is referred to the 0ity gngineer with power to act. The Board of Trustees having been named a committee of the whole to submit the names of streets to be placed under the provisions of the weed law, submit the following named streets: North Main Street between 6th and Santa Clara on both sides; gighteenth Street from Main to Bush, both sides; North side of Twentieth Street between Main and Spurgeon; Eighteenth Street to Seventeenth Street on the West side of Bumh Street; on the North side of Fifteenth Street between ~ash and Spurgeon Streets; ~0n the south side of ~ush Street between Seventeenth and French ~( Btreets; at the oorner~e~Washington and Yrench Streets; from Wellington Avenue to Vance Street on "F' Street. On Vance Street in front of City property; on both s~des of First, Second and Third Streets, east of Main Street to the Railroad tracks, and on all North and South streets connecting therewith; on both sides of Third, Fourth and Fifth ~ from Rosa Street to Baker Street, and all North and South Streetm e~mecti~ therewith;c~ the East side of Sycamore Street from First Street to Cubbon Street, and on the gaet side of Broadway from First Street to Cubbon Street. The committee appointed to rates being charged by inveBtigate the ru~or of exoe88ivo Bennett in violation of Auto for Hire license report that Mr. Bennett ha8 been warned by the Committee and that the City Marshal has been instructed to collect the license due the 0ity. The oo~ittee reoommend~ that the matter be dismissed. On motion of MeShes, seconded by Alderma~ and carried, it is ordered that the report of the cow~ittee and the reconmendation thereof be accepted. The petition of J.A.Crowther, et al, property owners on Second Street, petitioning the Board to commence prooeedinge to construct an a~phalt concrete pavement between the West line of Spurgeon Street and the East line of Garfield Street on Second Street in the City of Santa Aha, similar to pavement already constructed on ~aet First Street, was on motion duly seconded and carried, referred to the City ~ngineer for verification of signa- tures and frontage.
