/ City Hall,Santa Ana, Cal. <br /> <br /> October 8th,1914. at 7:50 <br /> <br />The Board met in regular adjourned session, <br /> <br />Present: Trustees, Alderman, McPhee, Greenleaf, <br /> <br />Board called to order by President l~rank <br /> # <br /> <br />In rs pavin~ West fifth Street~ <br /> <br />Artesia to city limits. <br /> <br />In re Ordinance No.5~6 <br />Electri~ Si~n. <br /> <br />In re dangerous oondizion <br />W~shington SChool. <br /> <br />Grubb, ky and the Clerk, <br /> <br /> On motion of Alderman duly seconded an~ carried, <br /> the contract for the paving of West ~ifth Street, <br /> from Artesia Street, to the West city limits was <br /> awarded to the Orandall Paving Oompany at 11 cents <br /> per square foot, and the president of the Board of <br /> Trustees ~e authorized to sign a contract. <br /> <br /> Ordinance No.~6,Electric Signs, was read and action <br />was deferred. <br /> <br /> On motion of Orubb, seconded by McPhee and carried, <br /> the Oity Marshall is instructed to notify people in <br /> the city of Santa Ama who have electric signs to <br /> keep the same illuminated between the hours of seven <br /> P.M. and ten P.M. <br /> <br /> A comm. ittee appointed to investigate and report on <br /> the condition of Washington School ,submit the <br /> followin~ report: <br /> <br /> October 2,1~14 <br /> <br /> To the Honorable Board of Trustees, <br /> <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> <br /> In compliance with your order we the <br /> undersigned inspected the building known as the <br /> Washington ~chool, and found the following con- <br /> ditions:- <br /> <br /> The heatin~ and ventilating system <br /> <br /> is poor. The air which is heated and supplied <br /> to the rooms is taken ?rom the lower part of the <br /> furnace pit, instead of which, it should be taken <br /> entirely fro~ out of doors. <br /> <br /> Only two rooms of the up, er story are <br /> <br /> in good ~as ~t present, in one room 40 pupils,in <br /> the other E4.
