Board called to order by President Rank gy. and the Clerk, Xn He Bids For Engine ~ud Poilers In Rs Gas for Public in He Ordinance ~ ~--~ / Abandoning South A com~mAnication was received from Consulting ~ngineer Mulholland, in which he recommends the ~urchase of the Allis-~halmers Pum~ No. 1~98, and the ~adenhausem Boiler for the Water Department of the Oity of ~anta Aha. The ~ommittee Appointed by the Board concur in the recommendation cf Engineer Mulholland. On motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, it is ordered that the bid of the Allis-~halmers ~o., for their pum~ and the bid of C.M.Gay & ~on for a Baden- hausen Boiler be accepted as the lowest and best. bid. The Oity Attorney is directed to draft a contract, and the President of the Board is authorized t9 sign the contract on the part of the Oity. All other bids are rejected, and the City Clerk is directed to return certified checks. A communication was received from ~.~in, in which he stated that a flat rate of forty cents wou~d be charged for gas used at the City Hall, the Library, the ~ire Depart- ment and the Oity ~ail. The rate for all gas used at the Water ~or~s to be fifteen cents per thousand~. On motion of Alderman, seconded by McPhee, and carried, the letter is ordered accepted, and placed on file. No.~ .
