Magill appeared before the Board in reference to <br /> <br /> the paving of ~ast Washington Ave., by the Southern <br /> <br /> Pacific ~ompany. <br /> <br /> On motion of McPhee, duly seconded and carried, the <br /> <br /> Oity Attorney is directed to notify the S.P.~ailway Go., <br /> <br /> to curb and pave the street in front of their property <br /> <br /> and Washington Ave., <br /> <br /> A petition from Nra.Alice Whitney,et al, protesting against <br /> the payment of assessment for street work on East Washing- <br /> ton Ave., was ordered filed. On motion of McPhee, seconded <br /> by ~ldexm~an and carried, the ~ity Attorney is directed to <br /> notify Mrs. Graham to pave the street in front of her proper- <br /> ty on Wast Washington Ave., or else the Vrooman Act will <br /> be invoked. <br /> <br /> On 'motion of McPhee,.duly seconded and carried, Df.O.D. <br /> Ball, and G~$.H. Randall are re-appointed members of the <br /> Board of Trustees of the Oarnegie Public Library. <br /> <br /> The President of the Board having announced this the <br /> time for opening bids for the paving of West ~ifth <br /> St.,from Artesia St., to the West ~ity Limits the Olerk <br /> was on motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, <br /> ordered to open bids: <br /> <br /> Max L.Huberman bid 1~ cts. per sq. ft. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mclrnee, seconded by Greenleaf and carried, <br /> <br /> the bid is ordered rejected. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />A ~etition signed by ~.G,Quick, et al, asking the Board <br />to pay a portion of the paving on East 4th St., was <br />ordered tabled. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Alderman, seconded by McVhee and carried, <br />the Oity Olerk is directed to notify the Southern Oalif- <br />ornia gdison 0o., to install street lights on South Birch <br />St., between Bishop and ~airview and ~xR at the Junction <br />of Rose St., and Bishop and the poles to be located ~y the <br />Street ~upt. under plans suggested by the Joint Pole <br />mission. <br /> <br />On motion of Alderman, seconded by McPhee and carried, <br />the Board re-considers its action in placin~ gon~s at <br />the Pacific ~lectric Rwy crossing on East let St., and <br />the Oity Attorney is directed to notify the P.E.Rwy.
