Magill appeared before the Board in reference to the paving of ~ast Washington Ave., by the Southern Pacific ~ompany. On motion of McPhee, duly seconded and carried, the Oity Attorney is directed to notify the S.P.~ailway Go., to curb and pave the street in front of their property and Washington Ave., A petition from Nra.Alice Whitney,et al, protesting against the payment of assessment for street work on East Washing- ton Ave., was ordered filed. On motion of McPhee, seconded by ~ldexm~an and carried, the ~ity Attorney is directed to notify Mrs. Graham to pave the street in front of her proper- ty on Wast Washington Ave., or else the Vrooman Act will be invoked. On 'motion of McPhee,.duly seconded and carried, Df.O.D. Ball, and G~$.H. Randall are re-appointed members of the Board of Trustees of the Oarnegie Public Library. The President of the Board having announced this the time for opening bids for the paving of West ~ifth St.,from Artesia St., to the West ~ity Limits the Olerk was on motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, ordered to open bids: Max L.Huberman bid 1~ cts. per sq. ft. On motion of Mclrnee, seconded by Greenleaf and carried, the bid is ordered rejected. # A ~etition signed by ~.G,Quick, et al, asking the Board to pay a portion of the paving on East 4th St., was ordered tabled. # On motion of Alderman, seconded by McVhee and carried, the Oity Olerk is directed to notify the Southern Oalif- ornia gdison 0o., to install street lights on South Birch St., between Bishop and ~airview and ~xR at the Junction of Rose St., and Bishop and the poles to be located ~y the Street ~upt. under plans suggested by the Joint Pole mission. On motion of Alderman, seconded by McPhee and carried, the Board re-considers its action in placin~ gon~s at the Pacific ~lectric Rwy crossing on East let St., and the Oity Attorney is directed to notify the P.E.Rwy. Oo., to place wig wag or red moving light signals at the crossin8. #
