1.qB Board met in regular a~Joum~ed session. Present, Trustees Tubbs, McPhee, Greenleaf, Meeting called to order by President Vlsel. Santa An,, May 14, City Hall, 191~, 7;3o p.m. Maryatt, Visel and the Clerk. In Re Pavement on Orchard Et. In Re Protest,W.4th et. paving In Re Fire Hose In Re Certified checks,fire hose In Re Bide on Sinking well In Re Increase of Salaries A communication from Wells & Bressler asking instructions to which method of improvement the Board required for paving Orchard St. from Ross to Van Ness, was read and on motion of Trustee McPhee that all streets paved under specifications $82, be finished with a seal coat, and same to apply on above portion of street, was duly seconded by Tubbs and carried. A protest signed by property owners asking that the proposed improvement of paving West 4th St. from Baker to Artesla under Specifications 80 be postponed for the present, was presented by Attorney Clyde Bishop. Upon motion of Trustee MoPhee, duly secor~ied by Tubbs and carried, all proceedings were postponed for one week or next regular meeting. The committee appointed in reference to investigating the different bids of furnishing the City with 500 feet of fire hose, recommended that the bid of the^Woven Hose and Rubber to.to furnish 500 ft. of Bay State brand, coupled in 50 ft. lengths at 90 cts. per ft. be accepted, and on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by McPhee and carried by the following vote, Ayes, Trustees Tubbs, McPhee, Greenleaf, Maryatt and Vlsel, Noes Trustees None, the above bid was accepted and City Attorney instructed to draw~t~f, the necessary contract. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, the Clerk was instructed to return all certified checks to the unsuccessful bidders of furnishing 500 ft. of fire hose, and retain the certified check for $45.00 of the Boston Woven and Rubber Co. the successful bidder. The committee appointed in reference to investigating the bids for sinking a 12 inch well for the Water Dept. recomm- ended that the bid of Dimmock & Otto of $1.00 per ltl he accepted and on motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, the above bid was accepted and the City Attorney instructed to draw up a contract with Dimmock and Otto to that effect. The ~uccessful bidder being required to give a bond of $250.00. Upon motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by McPhee and carried, and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Tubbs, MoPhee, Greenleaf, Maryatt, and Visel,
