1.qB <br /> <br />Board met in regular a~Joum~ed session. <br /> <br />Present, Trustees Tubbs, McPhee, Greenleaf, <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by President Vlsel. <br /> <br />Santa An,, <br /> <br /> May 14, <br /> <br />City Hall, <br /> <br />191~, 7;3o p.m. <br /> <br />Maryatt, Visel and the Clerk. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Pavement on Orchard Et. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Protest,W.4th et. paving <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Fire Hose <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Certified checks,fire hose <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Bide on Sinking well <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Increase of Salaries <br /> <br /> A communication from Wells & Bressler asking instructions <br /> to which method of improvement the Board required for <br /> paving Orchard St. from Ross to Van Ness, was read and on <br /> motion of Trustee McPhee that all streets paved under <br /> specifications $82, be finished with a seal coat, and same <br /> to apply on above portion of street, was duly seconded by <br /> Tubbs and carried. <br /> <br /> A protest signed by property owners asking that the proposed <br /> improvement of paving West 4th St. from Baker to Artesla <br /> under Specifications 80 be postponed for the present, was <br /> presented by Attorney Clyde Bishop. Upon motion of Trustee <br /> MoPhee, duly secor~ied by Tubbs and carried, all proceedings <br /> were postponed for one week or next regular meeting. <br /> <br />The committee appointed in reference to investigating the <br />different bids of furnishing the City with 500 feet of fire <br />hose, recommended that the bid of the^Woven Hose and Rubber <br />to.to furnish 500 ft. of Bay State brand, coupled in 50 ft. <br />lengths at 90 cts. per ft. be accepted, and on motion of <br />Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by McPhee and carried by the <br />following vote, Ayes, Trustees Tubbs, McPhee, Greenleaf, <br />Maryatt and Vlsel, Noes Trustees None, the above bid was <br />accepted and City Attorney instructed to draw~t~f, the <br />necessary contract. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and <br />carried, the Clerk was instructed to return all certified <br />checks to the unsuccessful bidders of furnishing 500 ft. <br />of fire hose, and retain the certified check for $45.00 <br />of the Boston Woven and Rubber Co. the successful bidder. <br /> <br />The committee appointed in reference to investigating the <br />bids for sinking a 12 inch well for the Water Dept. recomm- <br />ended that the bid of Dimmock & Otto of $1.00 per ltl he <br />accepted and on motion of Trustee McPhee, duly seconded by <br />Tubbs and carried, the above bid was accepted and the City <br />Attorney instructed to draw up a contract with Dimmock and <br />Otto to that effect. The ~uccessful bidder being required <br />to give a bond of $250.00. <br /> <br />Upon motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by McPhee and <br />carried, and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees Tubbs, MoPhee, Greenleaf, Maryatt, and Visel, <br /> <br /> <br />
