Crown Stage <br /> <br />COmpany <br /> <br />In Me <br /> <br />Application For r,earing Highway <br /> <br />Transportation Company. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Moving Picture Shows and Pool Hall <br /> <br />Closing on Sunday. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Protest Mrs. Hattie Bauer. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Protest Lenora Thompklns. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Monthly Reports. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Committee Reports. <br /> <br /> In the matter of the application of the Crown <br /> Stage Company for a permit to operate a Stage Line <br /> between Santa Aha and Laguna Beach same was granted <br /> for one year, on motion of Trustee Tubbs duly seco~ <br /> ed by Maryatt and carried. <br /> <br /> In the matter of the application of the Highway <br /> Transportation Company for a hearing was on motion <br /> of Trustee Greenleaf duly seconded by Maryatt and <br /> carried set for October the 21st at ?:~0 p. m. <br /> <br /> A petition signed by individuals, organizations <br /> <br /> and societies asking that an ordinance or ordinano~ <br />be passed to close all pool rooms, billiard halle, <br /> <br /> moving picture shows and theatres on Sundays. <br /> ~motlOn of Trustee McPhee that the City Attorney <br /> prepare such an ordinance, not receiving a second, <br /> <br />was lost. A motion by Trustee Greenleaf that the <br /> petition be referred to a committee for further <br /> action was duly seconded by Tubbs and carried. <br /> Trustees Tubbe, Greenleaf and Maryatt being appoint <br /> ed as such committee. <br /> <br /> A protest from Mrs. Hattie Bauer in reference to <br /> the North Flower St. Bridge, stating that solid <br /> concrete or cement walls between the supporting <br /> pillars would endanger her property on the North <br /> Bank. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf duly secondec <br /> by Tubbs the matter was referred to the City Attor. <br /> ney, City Engineer Bonebrake and Special Engineer <br /> E. T. Flaherty. <br /> <br /> Miss Leonora Thompkina wes before the Board pro- <br /> testing about the amount of a bill sent here for <br /> repairing ~the ornamental street lamp at the <br /> corner of 4th & B~oadway. No action was taken by <br /> the Board in the matter. <br /> <br /> The monthly reports of the City Recorder, Marshall <br /> Building Inspector and Fire Chief were, on motion <br /> of Trustee Tubbs duly seconded by Naryatt, referre, <br /> to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> " purchasing <br /> The Com~lttas appointed in reference to <br /> <br /> a wagon for the Street Department reported the <br /> purchase of a 34 in. wagon in good shape from Cood <br /> Adams for $160.00, same to be delivered Thursday, <br /> October loth, 191g. <br /> <br /> The Committeeon secttring an outfall sewer in con- <br /> junction with other cities reported progress. <br /> <br /> <br />
