On motion of Trustee Purinton, seconded by Collier and carried, City Engineer and City Attorney were inetructed to prepare plans and specifications for the paving of South Main Street from let St. to the City limits, paving to be 10 ~nches thickness in center and 8 ~nches on sides. Petitions were presented for the paving of that oortlon of 0r, n=e Avenue between Edinger St. on the North and Pomona St. on the South and Stanford St. from Main ~treet on tbs ~eet to Mao3e Avenue on the E~st. C, ty ~n~Ineer Neff re,outed that more t~en 50% of the f~ontage involved w~e repreQented by the ~etltions. 0n motion of Trumtee Purinton, seconded by Chapman and carried, plans and specifications covering above improvementm were ordered drawn. 0n motion of Trustee Chain, seconded by Collier ~nd carried, the Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for 8554 4 inch water pipe No. 6; bids to be ft. Bf nix inch end 4246 ft. of to be paid for out o~ Wa~dr Bonds opened November 2nd. On motion of Trustee Purlnton, seconded by Chapman and carried, pa~ent of bill rendered by A.O.Flagg in amount of $145 for Santa Aaa Folders was authorized from Advertising Fund. On motion of Trustee Purinton, seconded by Co31ier sad carried, petition for ornamental l~.hts on East Fourth Street was referred bask to petitioners. On motion of Trustee Purinton, seconded by Co21ier end carried, following communication from City Engineer Neff was accepted en~ recommendation therein adopted by the Board: "! would respectfully recommend that all petitions for ornamental llgbting system~----be sub- mitted to tbe Board of Trustees before being cir- culated among the property owners. It is my personal op~nlon that these ~etltions should have the recommend,tlon of the Board of Trustees in order that tbs lighting standards will be unifol~m over a given district. The petition should also carry a photograph as well as n description of the proposed post, and should be accompanied with a close estimate of the cost of the proposed system installed oar front foot.a
