V:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular aession. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Purinton. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees J.L. McBride, W.J. Kelly, <br /> Stanley E. Goode, F.L. Purinton. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees Homer C. Chancy. <br /> <br />Minutes of Meatings of April 1st and 8th <br /> w~re approved as read. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Request of <br /> <br />Chamber of Co~nerce. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Dinner Meeting <br /> <br />Rural Fire Protection. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Electric Sign. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Request of <br /> <br />Business Woments Club. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Warrant for <br /> <br />Or.Co. Reid, Manager of the Calif. Valencia <br />Orange Show, appeared before the Council with reference <br />to placing an e~hibit in the Orange Show. On motion of <br />Trustee Goode, seconded by Kelly and carried, the re- <br />quest was taken under advisement for one weak. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the City Manager and Fire Chief were appointed <br />to represent the City at the Dinner Meeting at t~he Fair <br />Grounds on Friday, April 19th, 6:30 P.M., of the Rural <br />Fire Protection. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelly, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the application of Gilbert-Weston-Stearns Company <br />to hang an electric sign for Sleeper-Huntley Radio Shop <br />at 212 N. Broadway was granted under supervision of the <br />Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the Clerk was instructed to draw warrant in amount <br />of $350.00 in favor of the Business and Professional <br />Woman's Club from the Advertising Fund, for expenses <br />in connection with Convention to be held in Santa Aha, <br />June 7th to 9th inclusive. <br /> <br /> On motion of T~ustee Kelly, seconded by Goode and car- <br /> ried, the Clerk was instructed to draw a warrant in <br /> amount of $1~5.00 from the Advertising Fund in favor of <br /> the Orange County Baseball Association. <br /> <br /> , <br /> <br /> A petition signed by T. W. Oglesby and others for the <br /> opening of Richland Street between Flower Street and <br /> Shelton Street was presented. Nc.action taken. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Kelly, seconded by Goode and car- <br /> ried, the application of G. L. Havens for water service <br /> on Lot ~, Block B, Tract 24, 20~0 East First Street, <br /> <br />was granted. <br /> <br /> <br />
