F. Wolford to rezone property at 806 E. Pine <br />Street. Hearing date was set August.lOth, 1931. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warner and car- <br />ried, the application of Geo. K. Conrad to take care of <br />and clean the two acres on No. Flowor Street known as <br />Scout Camp for the right to live there and raise garden <br />truck, was denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Witmer, seconded by Hasenjaeg~r and <br />carried, Rex Kennedy was appointed as a member of the <br />Library Board to fill the vacancy left by the expiration <br />of L. G. Swalest term of office. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Wa~ner and car- <br />ried, in view of ths fact that the City of Santa Ana does <br />not own its distribution system, it is the concensus of <br />the Council to decline to enter into a fifty year con- <br />tract with the government for Hoover Dam Electrical <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warner and car- <br />ried, the budget for the year 1931-1932 was approved as <br />submitted by the City Auditor. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Witmer and car- <br />ried, Trustee Witmer was requested to submit in.writing <br />his suggestions for decreasing expenses as outlined in <br />the budget for 1931-193~ and his reasons for such reduc- <br />ti on s · <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Warner and car- <br />tied, the Council proceeded to open bids for city adver- <br />tising for the coming year as follows: <br /> <br /> Register Publishing Co. .65~ .60~ .60~ <br /> Orange County Reporter .45 .40 .35 <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Hasenjaeger <br /> <br />carried, bids for city advertising were taken under <br /> matter <br />advisement for one week and/referred to the City Attorne <br /> <br />for legal opinion with reference to awarding the contract <br />to the Register Publishing Co. on the grounds that one <br />member of the City Council is a stockholder in said <br /> <br />Company. <br /> <br /> <br />
