Eddleman was granted on recommendation of Taxicab Commissio~ On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, the communication of Albert Launer, Secretary of the Orange County League with reference to the mseting to be held in Seal Beach, October 25th, was received and filed. On motion Of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, the application of tho Cope Electric Company to hang two electric signs for Ray McIntosh ~arket at 202 N. Broadway, was granted under supervision of the E!ect~tcal Inspector. On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Bruns and carried George L. Champion,oity employee, was appointed a special police officer without pay. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of A. D. Bechtel for appointment as a speci police officer to work on school crossings under ~he S.E.R.A was referred to the Police Commissioner. A protest signed by merchants on North Sycamore Street be- tween Third and Fourth Streets, was read, against issuing a permit for a pool hall at 315 N. Sycamore Street. On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of George Hill for a license to conduct a pool hall at said location, was denied. On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Bruns a~d carried the application of Philip Newman for permission to conduct a Second Hand Clothing Store at :519 W. Fourth Street, was granted. ,, On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of Ted Collins requesting the use of Birch Park on Friday nights for the S.E.R.A. band concerts, was granted. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and carried the City Engineer was instructed to check and post all dead end street with proper signs in the City of Santa Ana. . On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Bruns and carried ~rs. R. R. Russick was appointed police matron of the City at a salary of .~80.00 per month to take effect October 1st.
