On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the communicatioh signed by a Registered Voter and Tax- payer with reference to the passage of Resolution prohi- biting appropriations to private grQups and organizations, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland a~ car- ried, the communication of W. 0. Marriott, Caretaker at salary or the Santa Ana Camp Grounds at Forest Home, requesting a/ financial assistance in the upkeep of the Grounds during the summer ~onths, was received and filed and the Clerk instructed to advise Mr. Marriott that the 0ity has an agreement with him that does not stipulate a salary, and the City is living up to its part of the agreement. On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Penn and carrie( the communication of Donald L. Winans, Major 185th Infan- try thanking the Council for its support and cooperation extended to Company "L", was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the application of Paul La Prelle for permission to conduct an auto paint shop in the driveway under a canvas roof at 107 E. Walnut Street, was referred to the Plannin Commis si on · On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motio of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of Paul La Prelle for auto painting shop was referred to the Building Inspector; there being no change in the zone. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication from the Pacific Coast Building Offi- cials Confermnce with reference to their annual conferenc, to be held in Pale Alto, August 7th to llth inclusive, and urging the attendance of the Chief Building Inspector was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland an~ car~ tied, the communication of the Plumbing Inspectors Asso- ciation of California with reference to the Fifth Annual Convention in the City of Stockton, October 12th and 13th was received and filed.
