Santa Aha City Hall. <br /> <br />Jul~ 23rd, 1934. 7:30 P.~,~. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular adjourned session. <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Warner. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees A. F. LeGaye, Fred C. Rowland, <br />W. H. Penn, Plummet W. Bruns, E. G. Warner. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />City Hall. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application of <br /> <br />Sinclair for Governor Club. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Calif. <br /> <br />Investigation Service. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Resolution Prohibiting <br /> <br />Liquor Sales on Election Day. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />B. Milligan. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Lofton Bishop. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Penn and car- <br />ried, the Clerk was instructed to write a letter of thanks <br />to Senators W. G. McAdoo~and Hiram Johnson, Hamilton C. <br />Cotton, Supervisor W. C. Jerome and former Mayor Paul B. <br />Witmer, who were instrumental in securing the federal <br />funds for a new City Hall. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Bruns and car- <br />ried, the application of the Sinclair for Governor Club <br />for permission to use the Municipal Bowl for a political <br />rally du~ing the middle part of August, was granted with <br />the understanding that all expenses in connection with the <br /> <br />Bowl to be paid by the Club. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, <br />tied, the communication of <br /> <br />seconded by Rowland and car- <br />C. E. Lay of the California <br /> <br />Investigation Service urging <br />the so called "ambulance <br />to the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> the City Council not to pass <br />chaser" ordinance, was referred <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Rowland, seaonded by Bruns and car- <br /> tied, the Resolution presented by The National ~oice, a <br /> national prohibition weekly, urging the Board of Equali- <br /> zation to Prohibit the Sale of Liquor on Election Day, <br /> was referred to the City Attorney. <br /> <br />.On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communication ef B. Milligan suggesting that four or <br />six Junior College students be placed on S.E.R.A. payroll <br />to supervise school children in spending vacations at the <br />City's campground at Forest Home; City to furnish trans- <br />portation and students to furnish their own food and camp- <br />ing equipment, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> ,, <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seaonded by Penn and carried, <br /> the application of Lofton Bishop for a permit to erect a <br /> private frame garage, 18 x 20, at 819 E. Third Street, <br /> <br />was granted. <br /> <br /> <br />
