Santa Ana City Hall. August 6th,1934, V:30 P.~. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Warner. Present: Trustees A. F. LeGaye, Fred C. Rowland, W. H. Penn, Plummet W. Bruns, E. G. Warner. Absent: Trustees None. Minutes of meetings of City Council of July 16th, 23rd, 30th, August 2nd and 4th were approved as read. In Re Applications for Use of Birch Park. In Re Application s.A. Valley Irrigation Co. On motion of Trustee Brumm, seconded by Penn and carried, the applications of the Merriam for Governor Club for use of Birch Park, the evening of August 10th and of Earl Crawford for use of Birch Park, Saturday, August llth, for A. C. Edington, Candidate for Lieut. Governor, were grante On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and the application of A. G. Diehl for permission to use Birch Park, the evening of August 15th, was granted. On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Penn and car- signed tied, the communication/b~ Henry Isenberg and others, residents and property owners on E. Second, E. Third and Hathaway Streets expressing gratitude to Trustee Bruns for having their streets oiled, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the communication from the Register Publishing Com- pany calling attention to the fact that the bid- of the Register is lower than that of any other daily newspaper published in Southern California, was received and filed. A communication was read from the Federal Emergoncy Ad~ninistration of Public Works setting forth conditions to be included in the Bond Contract or Grant Agreement for the allotment of funds for the City Hall project. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, the con~nunlcation was referred to the City Attorney. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the Application of Clinton Lee for permission to drive a taxicab for C. F. Eddleman, was referred to the Taxicab Commission. An application of the Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Company was read requesting permission to replace the pipe line along the west side of Santa Fe Street from First to
