Santa Aha City Hall. August 2Vth, 1934. V:30 P.~i. City Council met in regular adjourned session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Warner. Present: Trustees A.F. LeGaye, Fred C. Rowland, W.H. Penn, Plummet W. Bruns, E.G. Warner. Absent: Trustees None. In Re Communication American Bitmuuls Co. In Re Communication Netropolitan Water Dist. In Re Communication Unemployed Assn.,Unit 15. In Re Application Sar~ Sharkey. In ~e Agreement with Southern Pacific Co. In Re Application Elbert E. Smith. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the communication of the American Bitumuls Company complimenting the City Council on the recent construction of an emulsified asphalt maintenance truck and urging that it be displayed at the meeting of the California League of Municipalities to be held in Pasadena, September 24th to 2Vth, was referred to the City Engineer. A communication was read from S. H. Finley, Secretary of the Metropolitan Water District, reporting that ninety- two Santa Ana men were employed on the Colorado River Aqueduct during the month of July and they received in wages and salaries the sum of $9,127.41. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communi- cation was referred to the Finance Comuittee. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the communication from the Unemployed Association, Unit #15 thanking the Council for granting two members of thei: Association permission to solicit in Santa Ana, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the application of Sam Sharkey for permission to erect a stand for the p~pose located at 104 N. Main Street, of selling fruit on propert was taken under advisement On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the agreement between the Southern Pacific Company and the City of Santa Aha covering proposed six-inch sewer pipe crossing at Stafford Street, was referred to the City Engineer and Attorney. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the application of Elbert E. Smith for permission to drive a taxicab for C. W. Williams, was referred to the Taxicab Commissi on. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the application of Elbert E. Smith was granted on
