Santa Aha City Hall <br /> Septe~Se~~ 4th~ 1954. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Neeting called to order by Nayor Warner. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees: A.F.LeGaye, Fred C. Rowland, <br /> W.H.Penn, Pltnnmer W. Bruns, E.G.~Varnor. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees: N~ne <br /> <br />Minutes of meetings of August ~lst and 2Tth were approved as road. <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />L. Lucio <br /> <br />Use of Birch Park <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Mrs. Eunice Muller <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Petition <br /> <br />Ntu~serymen <br /> <br />~n Re <br /> <br />Sp~cial Police <br /> <br />Roy ~. Reynolds <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn <br />and carried, application of L. Lucio for <br />permission to use Birch Park on the 15th and <br />16th of September to commemorate Mexican <br />Independence Day, under supervision of Mexican <br />Consul at Los Angeles, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowlan~ <br />and carried, application of Mrs. Eunice Muller <br />of 915 South Ross St., for free license cover- <br />lng sale of "Sew-No-Moro" from house to house <br />was denied on advice of City Attorney, his <br />advice being to the effect t~bRt Council is with. <br />out authority to grant such request without <br />first repealing the ordinance which now pro- <br />vides for a license in such cases. <br /> <br />Ape tition was presented signed by a number of <br />local nurserymen in which request was made that <br />nursery wholesalers be allowed to deliver thet~ <br />merchandise in Santa Ana without paying a City <br />license. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded <br />by Rowland, and carried~ advice of the <br /> <br />City Attorney to the effect that Council is <br />without authority to grant such a request unle,, <br />Ordi nance providing for license in such cases <br />is first repealed, wa~ accepted and request <br /> <br />denied. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Tr'ustee Penn, seconded by Bruns <br />and carried, tho application of Roy J. Reynold,, <br />for an appointment as special police officer <br />of the City of Santa Ana, without pay, was re- <br />ferred to Police Commissioner and Chief of <br /> <br />Police. <br /> <br /> <br />
