Trustees <br />Layton, Smith, Bruns and City Engineer McBride were appointed <br />as the committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of C. B. Stockton for appointment as a spec- <br />ial police officer without pay in connection with his work <br />as night watchman for the Continental Oil Company, was gran- <br />ted on recommendation of the Police Commissioner andChief. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of Kirby A. Ferguson, 8~4 N. Patton Street, <br />Santa Ana, for appointmant as a special police officer witho~ <br />pay, in connection with his duties as night watchman at Juniol <br />High School, was referred to Police Commissioner and Chief <br />to report back with recommendation. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded-by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of Loule N. Holmes to drive a taxicab for <br />F.H. Williams, was granted on recommendation of the Taxicab <br />Commission. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the <br />matter as presented by Harold Matthews with reference to con- <br />tributing his animals and securing additional animals towards <br /> <br />the starting of a City zoo, <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, <br /> <br />was referred to the Forestry Board <br /> <br />seconded by Penn and carried, the <br /> <br />matter relative to the confection stand operated by A. H. <br />Colvin in Birch Park and plan submitted for a new building to <br />be erected by Mr. Colvin, was referred ba~k to the Forestry <br />Board for further recommendation. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />McBride, City Engineer, and Lloyd H.
