City Council met in regular sessidn. Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, JoKeph P. Smith, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees W. H. Penn. Each Trustee having received a copy of ~he Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of August 17th and 24th, was dispensed with on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried. In Re Communication City of New Orleans. In Re Monthly Eeeting Or. Co. Coast Assn. In Re Protest of Wintersburg Grange #583. In Re Application R. L. Menasco. In Re Communication Platt Auto Service. In Re Request of V. J. Anderson. Council Chambers Santa Ana City Hall. September 8th, 1936. 7:30 P.M, On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the City of New Orleans with reference to the annual convention of the American Public Health Asso- ciation from October 20th to fi le d. On motion of Trustee Layton, the invitation of the Orange 25rd, 1936, was received and seconded by Bruns and carried, County Coast Association to its monthly meeting to be held September 15th at 6:30 P.M. at the E1 Patio near San Juan Capistrano, was received and filed and members of the Council and city officials urged to attend. . On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the protest of the Wintersburg Grange #585 against the instal. lation of parking meters in Santa Ana, was received and filed and the Clerk instructed to write a letter thanking the Grange for their interst in the matter,appreciating their trade and wishing in no way to endanger their friendship. . On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of R. L. Menasco for a temporary permit to bake and sell donuts in his home at 130Z W. Fifth Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission having reported that 1303 W. Fifth Street is in the Neighborhood Business Zone, on motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, the applicatic of R. L. Menasco to bake and sell donuts at said address, wag referred to the Clerk for disposition. . On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the Platt Auto Service calling attention to a tree obscuring signs and pumps at their place of busi- ness, 219 Bush Street, was referred to the Forestry Board for disposition. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the request of V. J. Anderson for a permit to construct two thirty foot driveways in front of Eddie Baum's Cafe at llll
