First Street, was referred to the Street Commissioner and <br /> City Engineer with power to act. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seoonded by Smith and carried, <br /> the communication of F. A. Henderson, Superintendent of Santa <br /> Ana City Schools, requesting the installation of regular stop <br /> and go signals at Tenth and Main Streets, was accepted and a <br /> committee appointed for further study of conditions. Trustee <br /> Layton, B~uns and the City Engineer were appointed as ~he <br /> committee. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> the application of D. E. Silver, Manager of Crews, for a per- <br /> mit to solicit funds for the State of California Blind Made <br /> Products, was denied. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Taxicab Commission and on motion of <br />Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the ap~ <br />of Chester Dura Carlisle for a permit to drive taxicab for <br />the Broadway Cab Company and of Paul I.Hill for a transfer of <br />permit to drive taxicab for the Courtesy Cab Company, were <br />granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the applications of the Santa Ana Neon Company to hang elec- <br />tric signs for Baines Cafe at 109 E. Sixth Street and for <br />Brunet Drug Store at 1250 S. Main Street, were granted under <br />supervision of the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the request of the American Recovery Corporation for an <br />extension of ninety days from date of August 28th, 1936, to <br />complete certain improvements in the streets in Tract #1000, <br />was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seoonded by Bruns and carried, <br />the request of the American Recovery Cor~poration that the <br />City install main and fire hydrants in Tract #1000 without <br />charge to the contractors, Wells and Bressler, was referred <br />to the Water Commissioner, Water Superintendent and Auditor <br />with power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Stuns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of the American Recovery Corporation assi <br />lng all of their right,title and interest in 1;he $1000.00 <br />cash deposit on file with the City, for completion of street <br />improvements on Freeman Street between Tenth and Washington, <br />to the Orange County Title Company, was accepted and received <br />and the Clerk and Attorney to acknowledge assignment of bond. <br /> <br /> <br />
