6 <br /> <br /> 7 <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br /> 10 <br /> <br /> 11 <br /> <br /> 14 <br /> <br /> 15 <br /> <br /> 1.7 <br /> <br /> 18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />~-3 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />0.9 <br /> <br />3O <br /> <br />31 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 54-141 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> S~NTA ANA CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO SUBMIT TO A VOTE OF <br /> THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY A PROPOSED MEASURE TO <br /> AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO PROVIDE FIVE <br /> WARDS AND TO REQUIRE P~ESIDENCE OF ONE COUNCILI~AN IN EACH <br /> WARD; AND AUTHORIZING CONSOLIDATION OF SAID ELECTION WITH <br /> TqE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 2, 1954. <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~E CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES RESOLVE AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> That a special election shall be held in the City of Santa Ana <br />on the 2nd day of November, 1954 for the purpose of submitting to the <br />electors of said City the proposition of amending the Charter of the <br />City of Santa Ana to provide five wards, to require that one Council- <br />man reside in each ward, to provide that councilmen be elected at <br />large, that the boundary lines of wards shall be changed every two <br />years by Ordinance enacted by a four-fifths vote of the City Council, <br />that wards shall be established prior to March 5th, 1955 which wards <br />shall not vary one from another more than five (5) percent of the <br />inumerical one-fifth (1/5) of the total number of registered electors <br />in the City, to provide seven wards when the City has a population <br />of 120,000 and to provide nine wards when the City has a population <br />of 240,000 and other details. <br /> <br /> That said apectal election is called under and by virtue of the <br />provisions of Article XI, Section 8 of the Constitution of the State <br />of California, pursuant to a petition therefor signed by more than <br />fifteen porcent of the registered electors of said City as defined in <br />said Section 8,requiring that the City Council call a special electior <br />for the purpose of submitting the proposed measure to the voters of <br />said City, which said petition was filed with the Clerk of the Counci <br />and certified by her to have been signed by not less than said fiftee: <br />percent of the registered electors. <br /> <br /> That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby <br /> elect and does hereby authorize the Board of Supervisors of the <br /> County of Orange to consolidate this special election with the <br /> general election to be held November 2, 1954 and further authorizes <br /> <br /> <br />
