Council Chambers Santa Ana City Hall. November 18th, 1~37~ 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W.H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees None. Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, further readin~ of the Minutes of November 1st and 8th, 1937, was dispensed with and the Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried. in Re Communication Anaheim Merchants & Manufacturers Assn. In Re Meeting--Or. Co. League of Municipalities. In Re Planning Consultant. In Re Electric Signs. In Re Assistance League Charity Horse Show. In Re W.P.A. Project Planting Trees, etc. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the Anaheim Merchants and Manufacturers Assn. extending sincere thanks for Santa Ana's entry and cooperation in Anaheim's l~th Annual Hallowe'en Festival, was received and filed. # On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- ties relative to combining'the November-December meeting and holding it on Thursday evening, December 9th, was received and filed and members of the Council and officials urged to attend. . On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the Chamber of Commerce requesting that no action be taken in the way of new activity in City plan- ning until such time as the recommendation of the committee, appointed on planning, is submitted, was referred to Trustee Penn. # On motion of Trustee. Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the applications of Electrical Contractors to hang electric signs the 101 Cocktail Lounge & Cafe, 101 N. Main Street and at Danigers, 203 N. Broadway, were granted when approved by the Electrical Inspector and to be hung under his supervisic # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the request of Edw. Hall on behalf of the Assistance League, for permission to use the Municipal Bowl, May 20, 21 and 22, granted and 1938, for the annual Charity Horse Show, was/referred to a committee to be appointed at a later date. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to submit Sponsor's Project #12 to the Works Progress Administration for their approval, covering removal and planting of trees and tree surgery in
