Council Chambers <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />November 18th, 1~37~ <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W.H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, <br />further readin~ of the Minutes of November 1st and <br /> <br />8th, 1937, was dispensed with and the Minutes <br />approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by <br />Layton and carried. <br /> <br />in Re <br />Communication <br /> <br />Anaheim Merchants <br /> <br />& Manufacturers Assn. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Meeting--Or. Project <br /> <br />Planting Trees, etc. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the communication of the Anaheim Merchants and Manufacturers <br /> Assn. extending sincere thanks for Santa Ana's entry and <br /> cooperation in Anaheim's l~th Annual Hallowe'en Festival, <br /> was received and filed. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- <br /> ties relative to combining'the November-December meeting and <br /> holding it on Thursday evening, December 9th, was received <br /> and filed and members of the Council and officials urged to <br /> attend. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the communication of the Chamber of Commerce requesting that <br /> no action be taken in the way of new activity in City plan- <br /> ning until such time as the recommendation of the committee, <br /> appointed on planning, is submitted, was referred to Trustee <br /> Penn. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee. Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the applications of Electrical Contractors to hang electric <br />signs the 101 Cocktail Lounge & Cafe, 101 N. Main Street and <br />at Danigers, 203 N. Broadway, were granted when approved by <br />the Electrical Inspector and to be hung under his supervisic <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the request of Edw. Hall on behalf of the Assistance League, <br /> <br />for permission to use the Municipal Bowl, May 20, 21 and 22, <br /> granted and <br />1938, for the annual Charity Horse Show, was/referred to a <br /> <br />committee to be appointed at a later date. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the City Engineer was instructed to submit Sponsor's Project <br />#12 to the Works Progress Administration for their approval, <br />covering removal and planting of trees and tree surgery in <br /> <br /> <br />
