On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the request of 0. P. Wright for a street light at Fifteenth and Olive Streets, was referred to the Street Commissioner with power to act. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the voucher of the Pacific Electric Railway Company in of $231.77 covering franchise tax for the year ending Novem- ber 7th, 1937, was accepted and the Clerk instructed to deposit same. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the applications of H. X. Greathouse to drive a taxicab for the Blue Cab Company and of Carl L. Beltz to transfer permit from the Broadway Cab Company to the Blue Cab Company, were granted. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the petition of the Veterans' Welfare Board for the tion Of certain taxes now appearing on the~ tax records as a lien against property owned by the Board, was denied and the Clerk instructed to advise said Board that it is now the policy of the Council not to cancel taxes against property acquired by the Veterans' Welfare Board. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the monthly reports of city officers for the month of Novembe were received, filed and referred to the Finance Committee. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the Clerk was instructed to draw warrants according to the monthly demands audited by the Finance Committee~ numbering ~rom 128§ to l§A~ inclusive. On motion of Trustee Brans, seconded by Layton and carried, Herman F. Stahl and Thomas J.P. appointments as police officers # Kinney received temporary of the City of Santa Ana. ~n motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the petition of residents and property owners requesting a center suspension light be installed in the vicinity of 1011 W.
