Flower Street between Eighth <br /> <br />Street and Washington Avenue. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> <br />the following 0rdinanee entitled: <br /> <br />"An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1049 entitled 'An <br />Ordinance regulating the use of devices and/or apparatus <br />which interferes with radio broadcasting reception, in <br />the City of Santa Ana, repealing all Ordinances and parts <br />of Ordinances in conflict herewith and providing penalties <br />for the violation hereof'" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1057 and <br /> <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, <br /> <br /> No~s, <br /> <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Trustees Plum~r W. B~uns, Joseph P.Smith, W.H. Penn <br /> Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by B~uns and carried, <br /> the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Aha changing the Zone <br /> of certain property in said City# <br /> <br /> was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1058 and <br /> passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P.Smith, W.H. <br /> Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Noes, Trustees None <br /> <br /> Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> the request of the City Attorney to assist in the hearing to <br /> vacate the injunction against the City of Fullerton on the <br /> race track betting agencies, was granted and he was urged to <br /> assist to determine Santa Ana's position in such matters. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the Ordinance prohibltiug race track betting agencies was <br />held over until receipt of information on the hearing to be <br />held December 10th, in the vacating of injunction against the <br />City of Fullerton and the applications of the California For- <br />warding Co., J. P. Sullivan and Karl G. Baker to conduct race <br />track betting agencies in Santa Ana, were also held over <br /> <br />~ntil said hearing is had. <br />It was brought to the Council's attention to appoint the <br />Civil Service Commission by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of Mildred P. Browning, Vice President of <br />the League of Women Voters, suggesting the personnel of the <br />Civil Service Board, was received and referred to the Council <br />as a whole. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded ~y Bruns and carried, <br />the matter of':appoint~ng members of the ~lvil Service Commis- <br />sion is to be considered the first <br /> <br /> <br />
